Ancient Rome is very different than modern day America. Though there are some similarities.
For entertainment in ancient rome rome there were many options. you could go to the circus maximus and watch horse races. horse races were the main form of entertainment in ancient rome. today you can also go watch horse races and bid on horses to win. thats one way that ancient romes entertainment is similar to modern day america. You could also go to to the theatre and watch plays. in ancient rome there were only two types of plays. tragedies and comedies. Only me were allowed to act i the plays because women just weren't allowed so men had to play womens parts. they would have to dress up in costumes and were masks. Today you can also go to the theatre and watch plays but there are more types of plays and women are allowed to act. Another form of entertainment the romans had was gladiator games in the colosseum. Ancient Rome entertainment is different than our entertainment today but there are some similarities. Some differences are that we have TV,phones, computers, etc.
The religion that romans followed was polytheistic. The building they went to worship in was the pantheon.
Rome had a very big army. One difference between ancient rome's military and our military is what the soldiers wear. ancient roman soldiers had a helmet, javelin, shoulder plates, woollen tunic, body armour, a dagger, a sword, sandals and a shield.Today's soldiers wear pants, a jacket, boots a t-shirt and a helmet. One similarity is both ancient roman soldiers and modern day soldiers carry weapons.
In ancient rome the wealthy were to live in villas.Villas are big houses almost like castles. The romans would also bathe in bathhouses. bathe houses were giant “pools” in an ancient roman building.
